1. Incans on Sahara. 3 teams of 2.
Defense. I repel a double classical attack which luckily does not arrive coordinated and recover in time to assist my 'newish' wink teammate clear out a gunpowder attack from matt who's in another team. Game stops at 25 minutes (someone drops) but plenty of action early.
Good Defending double. Micro on matts army. Keeping my head and clearing raiders out while under attack in other city. Asking for and giving help when I thought it was needed.
noob villy scout has very long rest. no scout in attacking army. took eyes off Classical battle when thought it was won and lost units I could of easily saved. slow on caravans. te usual excuses 8)
questionable didn't build temple in city under attack. thought i might need another rax but temple would toughen both city and existing rax.

This is a nice game.
AU_58 (heh heh) - Aztec, playa - Nubian, MomentoMori - British vs Quingo - Bantu, humble_tabby - Turks, Mr_Whippy - Bantu.
Old World.
I go sci, mil and get 2 light infantry scouting for ruins/rares. It's all good with plenty of ruins. Meantime I find bison and sugar in my back yard so opt for com next and get my merchants moving to harvest before the 2nd cities up. Then I find a few merchant kills off Quingo and Mr_Whippy to top Ancient age and begin Classical nicely.
Classical 3 cities for the caravans and to get wood! which I then neglect for ages... raid close to home for nuisance value and spam a few troops to cause medieval havoc.
What I like about this rec is it shows the amount of damage/loss an Aztec player can sustain and still recover with fresh armies so quickly they can sap entire teams of life. This is because of 1 - the plunder they receive fighting - 2 - the units they can spam from barracks and - 3 - ramping costs advantage the player with less when spamming armies.
If you take an enemies Capital with an army sizeable enough to keep it their allies MUST respond. I drew all 3. The second time I attacked I drew 2 defenders. Both times it noticably sapped the opponents and I just spammed more units and kept trying to draw them out via seiging the crap out of Quingos stuff. This gave room for my economic based allies to boom ahead and soon we were all rolling through cities.
This felt like the old days 6 good players playing vanilla cept i wasn't getting pwned D

I didn't do quite the same build order as your strat...
ANyway, im tired of T&p, I'll be playing more Vron from now on
